The robust electromechanical thermostat from Leitenberger Mess- und Regeltechnik GmbH is specifically designed for front panel mounting and stands out in the market with its extraordinary reliability and precision. Equipped with a bimetal compensation system, the regulator ensures precise temperature control, ideally applicable in numerous industrial processes. The „Made in Germany” quality guarantees durability and measurement accuracy.
This device belongs to the Leitenberger remote sensing thermostat product family (item no. 04.16), which meets the highest quality requirements in accordance with the DIN EN ISO 9001 certificate.
This electromechanical regulator is an excellent choice for applications requiring reliable, mechanically based temperature control with minimal maintenance requirements.
Robust Design: The device housing is made of galvanized sheet steel, and the front panel is made of transparent glass, ensuring a long service life and mechanical resistance.
High-Precision Measuring System: It uses a dual Bourdon tube spring measuring system, supplemented by temperature compensation, which guarantees stable and accurate measurement across a wide temperature range.
Versatile Temperature Range: The measuring range can be flexibly adjusted according to customer requirements, from -80°C up to +380°C with a scalable range.
Simple Installation: The device can be easily mounted from the rear using the built-in frame (clamping bracket), allowing for quick and secure installation.
Adjustable Switching Point: It features a single-pole changeover contact adjustable within the entire measuring range, which switches with a preset hysteresis upon falling or rising temperature.
The following table details the critical technical parameters of the remote sensing thermostat (04.16):

| Protection Class (Terminals) | IP 00 (DIN 60529) | |
| Fixation | From the rear, with clamping bracket | Simple Installation |
The basic function of the device is temperature measurement and electrical switching upon reaching a preset value.
The built-in single-pole changeover contact enables control of heating or cooling systems. The switching point can be freely positioned within the entire measuring range. The hysteresis (approx. ±2% of the measuring range) ensures that switching does not occur too frequently, thereby protecting the controlled equipment. Switching can occur in case of falling or rising temperature, depending on the setting.
The standard version can be expanded with several accessory options to meet specific environmental or operating requirements:
Increased Protection: The protection class of the device IP 55can be increased by using an optional cover cap, which makes it more resistant to dust and splashes from the environment.
Switching Point Adjustment: The adjustment mechanism can be conveniently operated with a standard screwdriver, or alternatively, with a special key upon request.
Fixed Switching Point: An optional variant is available where the maximum adjustable value is fixed and there is no possibility of adjustment (Fixed switching point or stop for the maximum set value, without adjustment option). This is ideal for systems where safety settings must not be changed.
Leitenberger recommends the following for maximum reliability:
Surge Voltage Protection: Against switching overvoltages occurring when switching inductive loads RC element we recommend its use for arc suppression.
Contact Protection: Inductive loads generally only via suitable contact protection relay must be switched across to avoid premature wear of the contacts.
Thanks to the wide product range and customization options of Leitenberger Mess- und Regeltechnik GmbH, it is possible to meet the most specific industrial measurement and control requirements. For further variants and specific adaptations, please contact our customer service.
